Why this exists
Try to find out what Procore costs. There's no price on the website — just a sales call, where the quote is based on your annual construction volume and on what they think you'll pay. The same is true across most of the category. Pricing opacity is a negotiating strategy, and it works because contractors can't compare notes.
The places that were supposed to help have their own problems. The big software review platforms — G2, Capterra, Software Advice, GetApp — are now a single company, funded almost entirely by the vendors they rate, and independent analysis has found a significant share of recent reviews to be AI-generated. The "best construction software" articles that fill search results are mostly affiliate sites or vendors reviewing themselves.
This site does one narrow thing instead: it collects what contractors actually pay, verifies each contributor against their state's public contractor license board, and publishes the numbers anonymously. License verification is the part vendors can't fake — an AI can write a convincing review, but it can't hold an active California B license.
It's independent, takes no vendor money and no affiliate commissions, and its methodology is public. Read how verification works, or share what you pay— every report makes the next contractor's negotiation a little fairer.
